His expertise in leadership and organizational development extends to his time as Chief of Police and Security Director at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, where he played a pivotal role in forming the college’s police department, developing safety protocols, and ensuring campus security. His leadership extended to academia as the Criminal Justice Program Coordinator, overseeing curriculum development and accreditation compliance.
Steve’s dedication to service and leadership philosophy was forged during his tenure as a US Army Ranger, where he led combat missions, managed training operations, and maintained accountability for critical resources. His military honors include the Bronze Star Medal with "V" Device, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq and Afghanistan Campaign Medals, Ranger Tab, and Expert and Combat Infantry Badge among others.

He holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Valdosta State University.
