A graduate of Literature and an editor with the Parliament of Uganda, Shallon has won (twice) the prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders at the East African Regional center and in Washington D.C; she has won the Belgian Vliruos Fellowship Award for African Scholars among others.
