Andre C. Hatchett
Andre is a nationally acclaimed entrepreneur and philanthropist. Andre is the owner of TheBlackRealEstateSchool.com, AndresNotarySchool.com, TheNotaryBusinessSchool.com and co-founder of BuyBlackNYC.com.
Known as "Mr. Buy Black," Andre is the driving force behind the national Black Business Challenge social media campaign that encourages African-Americans to patronize Black-owned businesses, record feedback about their experience via their cell phone, and then post the footage online using the #BlackBusinessChallenge hashtag. The campaign, which was initially planned for 30 days but has increased to 395 days, garnered the attention of media outlets and sparked mass appeal in Black economics.
Andre attributes his entrepreneurial drive to his father, who once told him: "If you go to school with someone, you should never have to work for them." Those profound words resonated with Andre. He shoveled snow and sold lemonade and candy before high school.
At the age of 22, Andre completed the daunting task of homeownership and purchased his first home, and then purchased a second home at the age of 23. Since then, he has worked as a Business Consultant, Professional Coach, and currently as a skilled Real Estate Sales Expert, earning him the nickname "Mr. Condo."
Andre acknowledges the value of a formal education despite managing to attain success without a college degree. He recognizes the value of an extended education so he went back to college and will be graduating from Lehman College in the spring of 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in African American studies, and a minor in Business Practice.
Although he answers to many nicknames, having overcome a speech impediment and being misdiagnosed as a special needs student by his elementary school counselors, Hatchett is best described as a warrior.
