Ivan Thomas
IVAN C. THOMAS IS AN AUTHOR, motivational speaker, life coach/counselor and former head boys' basketball coach of the famous T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Virginia. The high school was made famous for honoring the 1971 football team in the movie, Remember the Titans. With his outstanding leadership and inspiration, Coach Thomas restored and led the 2008 T.C. Williams Boys Basketball team to the State Championship. Winning the Virginia Boys 2008 AAA State Championship was the first title won since 1977, ending a 27 year drought in Northern Virginia.
With his unique approach to working with high school students, he has helped his team over the past four years go undefeated at 52-0 in the district and has transformed their thinking and helped them develop an unbreakable spirit for life. He has received coach of the year honors 4 years in a row for his outstanding work with high school athletes, as well as being honored by the United Way for his innovative work with encouraging young high school athletes to be leaders
Born and raised in Norfolk, VA, he received his Bachelors degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, and holds two advanced degrees, a M.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University and a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from George Mason University.
He is the author of the recently released top-selling book, 45 Tips for Discovering your Child's Gift, a book that serves as a blueprint for parents and anyone working with youth to help inspire and motivate young people. Coach Thomas has traveled the country motivating both teens and young adults to set goals for their life and to live an unbreakable life. He will deliver an unbreakable message to your organization.
