     Gary's background was quite colorful. He grew up in beautiful, old Hawaii (yes, he surfed!). He learned about personal development through his Aikido training, the healing arts, and meditation practice (under a waterfall!). At the same time, he managed the design, installation, and testing of the most complex communications systems for the U.S. Government throughout the Pacific Rim countries, traveling worldwide. Additionally, Gary managed the reliability and vulnerability testing and evaluation of the Polaris, Poseidon and Trident warheads for nuclear submarines. That eventually became ho-hum, so he started his own business.
     With a passion for reading, writing and sharing personal development wisdom, he founded and ran a trade book publishing company, as publisher and CEO, for 5-plus years. Wanting to share his knowledge with an even larger audience, Gary then sold his half of the company to his partner, to move on to yet a new adventure, full-time professional speaking.
