Stacy's beautiful presentation of her journey to write People of Memorial Park will make you laugh and encourage you to continue exercising, regardless of your circumstances.

Stacy Holden is a native Houstonian, beginning her relationship with Houston's Memorial Park at an early age. At seven years old, Stacy began running, only to be diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and celiac disease three years later. Through these health hardships, her exercise habits never faltered, and in 1988, she and her parents began training at the Park for the Houston Marathon. All the dedication and hard work came to fruition when she completed her first marathon at twelve years old, sparking a new love for the Park and its people. Stacy went on to run competitively throughout high school and college. Today, she is married with two daughters and is grateful to live near the Park, where she still runs several times a week.
